Many things are associated with Easter, such as religion, hope, spring, chocolate and candy, and even an Easter bunny. With so many factors and such a large effect on people in many cultures and countries, there are almost endless Easter puns as well, and they are shared throughout the day in many different ways.

Easter eggs are eggs that have either been especially decorated for the holiday, or are made from chocolate and candy and will be eaten on Easter. The holiday has evolved from it’s religious roots and long hours in a church to mark the day and for many families is now a time to gather with loved ones, both friends and family, and enjoy a large meal with activities for the kids.
One way in which a top Easter pun has evolved relates to the egg hunt that is tradition for much of the population. Coloured and decorated eggs are hidden, or candy eggs in many cases, and the children set out on Easter morning to find the eggs in their hiding places. There is a race involved in which all the children rush to find as many eggs as they can and get to the eating of the candy faster. Easter eggs has evolved as a term to now refer to surprise comments, details, or images that are hidden within websites, movies, and television shows that are for adults to find. This silly Easter pun leads many watch movies more closely and listen intently to each word, or to open websites over and over to find a hidden easter egg surprise. It is a way that gains attention, using a short easter egg pun to get people to watch a movie or to tune in to a television show, or perform internet research, creating a feeling towards the movie or show they are interacting with and helps them to think fondly of it.
It is traditional to dress up for easter, either in a dress or a tie, and this tradition is still alive today. Many one liner Easter puns are made about Easter dresses, enough to rival the silly Easter pun about the hats that many women traditionally wore on the day. At one point a woman was unable to enter a church without a hat or scarf, and as some only attend church on holidays, a fancy spring hat with flowers or other decorations has become a clean Easter pun about the easter hat. Women used to own fewer clothing items then they now do so would have one hat that was worn each Easter for several years, creating this top Easter pun.
As women wore dresses, men were also expected to dress up their clothing for Easter celebrations, wearing their best suit or adding a tie to their regular attire. Hilarious Easter puns referencing the way everyone dressed for the holiday are popular, and will remain so as people choose to remain dressed for their daily tasks rather than continue this tradition. The funniest Easter puns may well be about the clothing that people choose and whether they decide to dress up in their best clothing or not.
No look into the cheesy Easter puns can be complete with out addressing the silly Easter puns about the Easter bunny. He is said to leave eggs or baskets of candy and presents to children for them to open on Easter morning. This is an old tale that dates back centuries and my have been used to get children to behave as their parents wanted them too for the spring months. Short Easter jokes have surely targeted the Easter bunny, and with all of the songs and varied beliefs on his background the cute Easter puns about him are sure to continue well into the future. Cheesy Easter puns about how the parents are secretly the bunny, or how a bunny brings eggs when they can’t have laid eggs themselves, are sure to be funny for many years to come.
